I don't really know what will become of my tumblrs once December 17 hits, since it's certain that a lot of the posts I've reblogged on them have been flagged as containing sensitive content, and to be quite honest, I cannot be fucked going through thousands of posts and either removing or challenging the flags. So if my blogs stay, they stay. If they go, they go. I've got FFXIV and Discord to keep contact for my FFXIV friends and I've Dreamwidth to shift my profiles and writings to.
My first FFXIV OC, Una'to was originally created and role played as a Warrior of Light. Hitting writer's block with him and finding it difficult to write him as a WoL (due to issues I had regarding a former RP partner) I rewrote him to be a Garlean Spy on assignment in Eorzea. Both WoL verse and spy verse profiles will be posted below.
EDIT: I was an idiot and forgot that I retconned Imperial Una'to having woodsin.
Verse: Warrior of Light
"I always thought, it's hard to make new friends. But making enemies, I guess that's easy"
Name: Una'to Viqqoh
Gender: Male
Race: Miqo'te (Keeper of the Moon)
Height: 5'8.2
Voice claim: Logan Cunnigham (Transistor)
Age: 27
Name day: 32nd day of the Fifth Umbral Moon
Birthplace: Ala Mhigo
Patron Deity: Rhalgr, the Destroyer
Class: Dragoon
Sexuality: Homosexual
Relationship Status: Single
Background:
Una'to was born in the city state of Ala Mhigo, he can’t remember too much about it before the Garleans invaded the city, but he did remember his family living in fear of the mad king, especially since his parents were heavily involved in the resistance against the king, and when the Garleans invaded Ala Mhigo, they became just as involved in the resistance against them.
When he was growing up, Una'to was taught to be loyal to his family and be devoted to the city’s true patron deity, Rhalgr. Growing up in an environment where worship of Rhalgr was illegal only solidified his devotion to the Destroyer. Trageedy struck when he was still just a child, when the King of Ruin was still in power. His elder brother, Una'a was out scrounging for more food for his family when he was caught up in a protest against the king. Try as he might, he could not escape the mob. The protest was brutally put down by the king’s soldiers, killing everyone involved, including Una'a, despite being just a child.
As his older sibling grew older, she was spirited away by friends and allies of his parents to avoid being conscripted into the Garlean Army, especially the feared and hated VIIth Legion led by the infamous Nael van Darnus, and as Una'to’s 15th name day grew closer, plans were being made to take him out of Ala Mhigo and avoid conscription. When it came for him to be smuggled out, the plan seemed to go without a hitch, yet through some cruel twist of fate or maybe in improper bribe or betrayal, the convoy he was hiding in was subject to a random inspection by Garlean soldiers, and Una'to was discovered. It didn’t take long for the terrified teenager to confess to why he was there.
Upon hearing word that the caravan carrying Una'to was inspected and Una'to was found, his parents got his other siblings and hid them with friends and allies in the Resistance, fearing that the Garleans would find their house and possibly conscript their last child as punishment. Una'to’s mother, Una, stayed behind at the house, knowing that soldiers would show up there and would arrest her, and in doing so she might be able to find out the legion Una'to would be assigned to and also because in whatever form of work she was put to, she could try and get information from the Imperials to pass on to the Resistance.
After some time in detention, Una'to was conscripted to the infamous VIIth Legion, led by Nael van Darnus, and was subjected to its brutal initiation and integration. In his early days in the Legion, Una'to in his youthful foolishness acted and spoke out, and was punished with brutal lashings and beatings, which he still carries the scars for, physically and mentally, and he very quickly learned to keep quiet and keep his thoughts to himself.
For nearly six years Una'to struggled through life in the VIIth, pretending to be a brainwashed and loyal sycophant, all the while struggling to come to terms with the actions he was forced to do, his devotion to Rhalgr and pleading and praying to the Destroyer and the hopes of seeing his family again all that was keeping him somewhat sane.
Against all odds, Una’to managed to survive the Calamity, and with the VIIth Legion annihilated by Dalamud and Bahamut and Nael van Darnus dead, Una'to was free from the grasp of the Empire, though he was former member of a detested legion in a foreign land that was very nearly destroyed by the legion’s mad Legatus. Una'to did what he could to put his life back together, and to try and find his family.
Personality:
Outwardly Una'to seems like a kind young man, eager to help those in need and do what is right, however, underneath that carefully built façade, he is a very broken individual, racked by by guilt, disgust and self-hatred at what he did as a conscript of the VIIth Legion. As much as he wants to deny that he was not that badly affected by his time in the VIIth Legion, some of their “sensibilities” still rubbed off on him, mostly the brutality he displays towards his enemies in combat, and he switches to being either almost emotionless or manically gleeful at felling his opponents.
Due to being a conscript, and having his home city invaded by the Empire, Una'to has a deep and seething hatred of the Garlean Empire and most Garleans in general.
Una'to carries a huge amount of guilt, he blames himself for being caught and arrested by the Garleans in the first place, he feels immense amounts of guilt over his activities in the VIIth, and the less said about his first encounter of Ifrit, where the civilians he was supposed to rescue and the Immortal Flames soldiers he was there assisting were all Tempered by Ifrit. He also felt a great degree of resentment at being the only captive to escape the Tempering due to the Echo.
Don’t even mention the massacre at the Waking Sands. Equal measures of guilt and self-hate at not being there and deep hatred towards the Garleans who perpetuated it.
After the events of the Steps of Fatih victory banquet, Una'to could tell that he was slowly coming apart, despite everything that he has achieved, all the Primals he had slain and reslain, threats to Eorzea exposed and put down, some worthless, self-serving popoto accused him of regicide, while at the same time accusing him and his order of being in possession of unnatural abilities, and while he was deservingly killed, an even worse waste of space took advantage of the situation, and the very organisation that he helped Alphinaud set up turned on them for self-serving purposes, and someone he had come to deeply respect and admire revealed himself to be a selfish charlatan, eager to betray his own long-time friend for coin.
The only thing things that were keeping Una'to together was the need to put a brave and stoic front up for Alphinaud and Tataru, and the compassion, companionship and friendship of Haurchefant Fortempts.
After the Vault and the death of the man he had come to love dearly, only putting an end to Thordan and the Heavens’ Ward, and avenging Haurchefant were keeping Una'to going.
After felling Thordan and his knights, Una'to’s facade is still up, but it is very shaky and is deteriorating, though Una'to is frantically denying it to himself that such a thing is happening.
Family:
Mother: Una Viqqoh
Father: Thata'zi Bajihri (deceased)
Father: Thata'tan Bajihri
Older siblings (in order of birth): Qhom Viqqoh, Una'a Viqqoh (deceased)
Younger sibling: Pelhi Viqqoh
Una'to’s family situation was strange, even for miqo'te. His fathers were twin brothers who both fell for the same woman, and that woman loved them both equally, and so the trio were in a relationship until the death of one of the brothers. The two still get along well, and are important to each other, but they know the relationship is not the same without the deceased brother.
While Miqo'te a generally polyamorous, with men and women (especially Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te) having multiple partners over their lifetime, the fact that the trio were in a steady relationship with exclusively each other is rather odd for most, and some more close minded Miqo'te (especially other Keepers of the Moon) find it unnatural.
Miscellany:
-Una'to has a chocobo, his name is Balthier and due to the bird getting into some feather colour changing fruits, his feathers are currently Colibri Pink.
-Una'to has a particular attraction to elezen, though he is fond of the occasional attractive miqo'te, hyur or au ra.
-Una'to is illiterate and never went to school, as his parents sent them, as they were too afraid of him and his siblings being kidnapped or taken away due to their involvement with the Ala Mhigan Resistance.
-Una'to doesn’t really understand why there is such a stigma against “naturalborn” (illegitimate) children and unwed mothers, his parents never married, and most Miqo'te never marry, as marriage isn’t a thing in Miqo'te culture. The stigma confuses him.
-Hildebrand Manderville amuses him and always puts him in a good mood with his antics, Godbert Manderville scares and concerns him and Julyan Manderville puts the fear of the Twelve in him. He is terrified of her.
-Una'to is not fond of Gridania and Twelveswood/The Black Shroud, one is mostly due to the fact he has a feeling that the elementals, as weakened as they are do not tolerate him very well for sheer gall of being an Ala Mhigan, the other is due to the fact that many Gridanians are openly racist towards and about Duskwright Elezen and Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te. He does find the locations to be beautiful and likes to pay the Mother Miounne and the Sylphs a visit when he’s in the area.
-Garleans are not Una'to’s favourite people, due to very obvious reasons. Although he is rather fond of Cid, and any other Garlean that rejects the empire.

Background:
Born as the third of four children, Una’to was born in the city state of Ala Mhigo to the trio of lovers, Una Viqqoh and the twin brothers Thata’zi and Thata’tan Bajhiri. The three were forced to flee the Twelveswood together after gaining the ire of the elementals, opting to leave than to suffer the Greenwrath. The trio often worked odd jobs together, and when times got tough, resorted to theft and banditry to support themselves and their small family. When Theodoric started to become more unhinged and tyrannical they joined up with the Ala Mhigan Resistance, though unbeknown to the other two, Thata’tan was contacted by the Garleans and agreed to become a spy and agent for the Empire if only so that there could be a safe and stable environment for his children to grow up in, especially since his eldest son Una’a was caught up and killed in a riot that was brutally put down by the King’s forces.
When Una’to was just a baby, his parents took in and looked after the Fist of Rhalgr Monk Jackal Ashdale, who had escaped only escaped the destruction of the order because she went to visit her family. Jackal became another parent to Una’to and his siblings, often referred to as ‘Auntie Jack’ and was named Una’to’s godmother. She often looked after them when their parents were out, teaching them to read and write, as well as giving them a good religious education about Rhalgr, so that the next generation would not forget about the god their nation truly worshipped.
Una’to was just six when Theodoric died and the Garleans
invaded, and during the confusion and chaos he was separated from his family but was found by Thata’tan. His father was unable to find the rest of his family in time to leave the city with his handlers, and was forced to leave with just Una’to. The life that Thata’tan desired was not the reality for him and Una’to, the pair treated like second class citizens due to being the people of a newly conquered nation, something that Thata’tan remained bitter about for the rest of his days, the older man falling into alcoholism and despair, dying soon after Una’to turned fifteen. Hearing about how conquered people such as himself could rise above their stations and become regarded as full, proper citizens of the Garlean nation, Una’to willingly enlisted in the Garlean army just days after his father’s passing and burial.
He worked hard in the army, and was quickly noticed and recruited into the Frumentarii, following in the footsteps of his father, though this time as an official member, not as a foreign agent. He was still officially listed as a member of the Garlean army, and was charged with rooting out spies and resistance members from within the Garlean army, something he was quite successful at. Eventually he was tasked with infiltrating Eorzea to try and work out its current state of defenses and the political situation strictly as an observer, not to to act on any destabilisation efforts until he was ordered to do so.
Finding a cover was almost laughably easy, with adventures being a gil a dozen and incredibly easy to become. With adventurers travelling about the realm, he had the perfect excuse to be able to travel unhindered around Eorzea and have eyes and ears in places the Empire could not easily get to.
Personality:
Una'to is quite friendly and affable to most people, seemingly wanting to just want to get along with people and not make enemies, though he has a tendency to keep people at arm’s length, not wanting to be close to others as his work takes him from one end of the Empire to the other, and to outside of it. He has had little time or opportunity to form close interpersonal relationships.
He is fiercely loyal and dedicated to the Empire and to its ideals, and while he knows and acknowledges that the Empire is not perfect and that there are others within it who can, and have, done great and almost irreparable harm to its image and reputation.
He is actually quite confused over Eorzean resistance to the Empire, as he honestly believes that they are impeding progress and an increase in quality of life all in the names of their eikons and blind pride, though he does acknowledge that the late Nael van Darnus’ actions did do a lot to damage the Empire’s reputation in the eyes of many Eorzeans. At the end of the day, he just wants what is best for the Empire, and what he believes is best for Eorzea, which is the wayward land submitting to the Empire, not fully understanding why it’s people resist so hard against being invaded and conquered by the Empire.
Miscellany:
-Una'to carries the Echo, though the fact that he does terrifies him, as he knows all to well the Empire’s opinion on the Echo and those who carry it. He tries his best to hide the fact that he does have it.
-He inherited his parent's woodsin and so cannot travel through the Black Shroud/Twelveswood or Gridania, yet he does not believe in the existance of the woodsin and Greenwrath, dismissing them as superstition.
-He has hawk, Quick Ben.
-He detests Nael van Darnus and Zenos yae Galvus and other like them, believing that their cruel and brutal actions does the Empire a huge disservice.
-He is loyal to the Empire, and will do everything in his power to protect it and see it flourish.
-How he takes his tea can be accurately described as ‘sugar with a sprinkling of tea leaves’
-Outside of Garleans already operating in Eorzea, it would be highly unlikely that anyone in Eorzea would know of Una'to’s true loyalties, to most, he’s just an adventurer
